Historic New Orleans
Lafitte's Blacksmiths Shop was completely renovated on the exterior and a full weathering gray green slate was chosen for the roofing. Old English V-tile that were salvaged from the prior roof were added to the ridge to complete the look. These slate immediately weather and look much older than they actually are, giving the building the historic look that was intended.

The Presbytere Museum, owned by the state of Louisiana, contracted us to replace the lead ledges on the upper and middle stucco cornices with new lead coated copper. Lead coated copper was chosen to avoid having a green patina bleed on the stucco building and achieve the longevity of copper. We also replaced the upper tower exterior flooring and two large flat roofs.
|
For the St. Patrick's Cathedral upper tower roof replacement we used every inch of the largest mobile crane available in the city to lift the copper flat lock roofing to our crew. For this undertaking, Camp street was blocked by the police and guide line was used to pull the pallet of copper over the wall.
